Happy Halloween

Let's look at some cool stuff!

Cool Music Stuff

I'm a hip-hop fan and the spookiest rap song for me is the Geto Boys classic, My Mind is Playin Tricks on Me and it sampled this Isaac Hayes song.

Spotify made this Halloween Mix just for me. It's pretty good but forgot to include this classic. Yes, that's Michael Jackson on the hook.

Also, as you may have known, John Carpenter did most of the music for his movies. Spotify's This is John Carpenter playlist is pretty great.

Cool Movie Stuff

Rewatched The Grey starring Liam Neeson(s)

It's intensity in ten cities. No Bruce Willy though.

And a quick word on the Key and Peele sketch- it's all about having a strong POV. Or, more specifically, a strong emotional POV. That's all that sketch is! They're super hyped on Liam Neeson(s) and it's almost 3 minutes long! You know how I feel about emotional investment...

And if you're looking for Halloween movies to watch tonight, my faves are:

Attack the Block - Basically Goonies meets Aliens.

Monster Squad - Another group of kids facing off against classic beasts.

Seven - SPOILER: Kevin Spacey didn't want his name in the opening credits.

The Lost Boys  - A classic.

Scary Movies I probably won't watch again but were really good (I'll let the trailers do the talking for these)

Barbarian

Hereditary

Doctor Sleep

Shoot me your favorites...if you dare! (That didn't make sense)

RIP Matthew Perry - This quote from an interview with the NY TImes in 2002 on his search for fame is a cautionary tale on many levels:

''There was steam coming out of my ears, I wanted to be famous so badly,You want the attention, you want the bucks, and you want the best seat in the restaurant. I didn't think what the repercussions would be."

It's why I feel knowing our process, and knowing ourselves is incredibly important in life, and in the acting biz.

RIP Richard Moll

I remember him from Night Court. My Mom loved that show and I still love the theme. It needs to be sampled ASAP.

Also, if you want to listen to some more legitimately good TV show themes, here's a playlist I put together.

As always, shoot me your improv and/or acting questions.
