Abel Brainz Digest, Vol. 42 - March 13, 2024

42!

The most iconic number in sports and I will not confirm or deny that it's also my current age...

check out this cool stuff!

The Oscars happened and I missed most of it. I absolutely loved how early it ended and the previous winners presenting the acting awards was great. What's the over/under of how many people lose their job for Al Pacino's shenanigans?

I still have Best Picture noms to watch from 4 years ago so we'll see when I get around to watching Oppenheimer.

cool class stuff

Another session at Drama Inc. went into the books last week and it's always bittersweet. One thing I try to emphasize, regardless of the class or workshop, is that your choice is enough.

Here's a different, slightly more poetic way of putting it:

Beautiful things of any kind are beautiful in themselves and sufficient to themselves

- from Meditations by Marcus Aurelius

cool movie stuff

I started re-watching Point Break directed by Kathryn Bigelow. She was the first woman to win an Academy Award for Best Director for The Hurt Locker. If you're looking for something to watch, I highly recommend her film, Strange Days. Solid cast and still very relevant.

cool shameless self promotion

I have another session of Improv for Actors starting on Sunday, March 17th at Drama Inc. If we've only worked together at Dad's Garage and you're an actor, it's worth checking out. Click here to sign up!

I'm also performing with some of you on March 20th at 8pm at Dad's Garage!! BYOT (bring your own team) night is only once a month or so but Community Nights will be back on Tuesdays!

That about wraps it up.
