Abel Brainz Digest, Vol. 78 - July 2025
Hey all!
Summer is officially here. Probably need to get on a new Summer vibes playlist. Click HERE for what I was feeling last year.
Ok, let's get to it.
cool revolutionary stuff
Republicans took a stand for billionaires this week and just in time to celebrate the nation's birthday. Sure, the country was founded by wealthy land and slave owning white dudes who didn't want to pay taxes. And they still knew that Kings were a bad idea.
Before I get going on the hypocrisy of the Republican party, and the BS pageantry of the Democrats, click HERE for some fun reading on how to get down with some sabotage.
cool reading stuff
I was disappointed with The Sons of El Rey. I'm more than halfway through Why We Love Baseball by Joe Posnaski. Gonna give The Informers more of a go and Tao Te Ching awaits. I'm trying to read more during the day instead of just before bed. When do y'all make time to read?
cool movie/tv show stuff
Got my late pass and watched Will & Harper. It is so vulnerable and moving and I highly recommend it.
Wife and I binged the latest season of The Bear. IMHO, far better than Season 3. Talk about patient scenes - I think every episode has a two person scene that lasts more than a couple minutes without any cutaways to a different story line.
Re-watched Jaws and it still holds up. Check out this cool spotlight on the Spielberg "oner" and fast forward to 2:11 to get to the Jaws scene.
cool Dad's Garage turning 30 stuff
As many of you may know, Dad's Garage is celebrating 30 years (!!!) An improv theatre, that's also a non-profit to last this long is... well... words don't do it justice. There's a weekend of celebration starting on July 24th and I'm DJing the after-show party on Friday, July 25th. Come out and dance!!
cool improv stuff

That's right, Your Favorite Improv Class is being presented by Chara Community on August 8th, 9th, and 10th. It's a full weekend of improv, fun, connecting, and conversation. I'm very excited to be a part of it and it's sure to be the start of something special.
