Vol. 39!

Let's go!

Shorty but a goody! (I hope)

stuff that lives rent free in my head

I like to rewatch movies, and sometimes the ends of movies are different for me because of the Walk of Life Project. Give yourself some time to enjoy the videos. They have some of my favorite movies of all time. Let me know which ones you liked.

cool tv(?) stuff

Is it TV if it's on a streamer? Anyway, I got my late pass to Shrinking. 11/10 for the writing and performances. It's also cool that I now have one degree of separation from Han Solo

cool reading stuff

I just finished a book called Wabi Sabi, the Japanese Art of Impermanence. Boy, does it ever connect with improvisation. Check out this excerpt:

The term seishintouistu refers to the concentration of the mind and spirit on just one activity, and through this constant mental discipline the person is able to lose the dominance of the ego and become one with the activity. The artistry is the result of a mind focused on the task in hand, whether it be polishing a floor, raking gravel, or cutting vegetables.

If we've ever worked together, you've definitely heard me talk about being completely in the moment. The Wabi Sabi of improv is acknowledging that the scene being "good" or "bad" is irrelevant. It matters most if you are completely focused on it with no ego present.
