Vol. 17!

Let's get right into it! Check out this cool stuff!

Artist/Acting/Improv Stuff

I recently listened to an episode of Life Kit on NPR on how to include more play into your life and it made me so happy. Please clickhereto listen.

Holler back when you do because I would love to hear your thoughts about it. How lucky are we as actors and improvisers to tap into this on a daily basis? Or at least, use these tools to make the side hustle or 9 to 5 that much better. I read in "What it is," all of the things that we think are an escape are actually a means to keep us here. It's a perspective worth visiting because it keeps us more present and, in turn, these works of art, creative expressions, etc. are more connected to our everyday lives. Especially during the lows.

Reading Stuff

Finished this book by Eve Babitz. It was written in the early 70's and it still felt like it was during my time in LA. (it was NOT at the same time)

How do we take the imagery in books and make it fit our own memories? Is that the magic of books?

I've let Meditations fall by the wayside. I'll pay it a visit soon.

Still reading Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara and Gringos by Charles Portis. Both are making it difficult to choose which to read every day.

Teaching Stuff

This interview with Director Michael Mann is a great read. Al Pacino has quite the choices in Heat and now it makes a little more sense. This is another reminder that our choices are enough.

Stuff That Lives Rent Free In My Head

In this edition we revisit this classic Reggie Watts jam. Enjoy!
