Abel Brainz Digest, Vol. 91 - May 2026
Welcome to another volume!
Let’s go!
cool improv stuff
Our friend, Joel Camargo, is launching his podcast, The Joy of Improv on Friday. I had the honor of being one of his first guests and I had a great g-dam time. If you know me, and most of you do, you know that I love talking improv. It’s my favorite artform by a mile. I hope you enjoy the podcast!
cool movie stuff
Rewatching The Untouchables. Never understood how Kevin Costner was, well, untouchable for so long. Let’s just say, I’ve never had much enthusiasm for his acting. And if you decide to rewatch, keep an eye out for improv godfather, Del Close.
Also, holy shit, the VO on that trailer is marvelous.
cool music stuff
Because Tidal is quite temperamental, I’ve been revisiting some great mixes on youtube. If you’re an audiophile like me, you might be going down a loooong rabbit hole.

Your Favorite Improv Gym is back in June! Please click HERE to sign up.
Please note: There will be one gym session (maybe an intensive?) in July, so get your Summer reps in or wait until August.
cool reading stuff
Wrapping up Last Night In Montreal by Emily St. John-Mandel and it’s cool to see early works of an author I enjoy (Sea of Tranquility was excellent and I loved the adaptation of Station Eleven)
I’ve never been a big books on tape/audiobook guy and since I have so many books on my list, I thought I’d suck it up and give it another go. Gonna start with the second book delving into Prince’s studio sessions, Prince and the Parade and The Sign O’ The Times Eras. Check out the first book, if you’re inspired.
That wraps it up for me. Thoughts? Questions? Hit me up!
