Abel Brainz Digest, Vol. 85 - 2025 WRAP UP
Well, it's the end of the year... again...
Let's check out some stuff from 2025.
cool music stuff
I'll be getting rid of Spotify very soon. My hypocrisy only goes so far. In the meantime, enjoy my end of year playlist. I usually encourage a listen in order first, and then shuffle to your heart's content.
cool reading stuff
Here are some of my favorite books from this year. I definitely started and stopped a lot of books whereas before I'd feel like I had to finish. Anyway, please let me know some of your favorites from this year.
Hologram for the King by Dave Eggers
Bicycles by Nikki Giovanni
Everyday Intuition by Elzabeth Greenwood
One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This by Omar El Akkad
Tapping the Source by Kem Nunn
Why We Love Baseball by Joe Posnaski
America, Let Me In by Felipe Torres Medina
James by Percival Everett
On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder
Syllabus by Lynda Barry
Letter from Birmingham Jail by Martin Luther King Jr.
And remember you still get 20% off (and I do, too!) when using THIS.
cool movie and tv show stuff
Task - amazing television. Remember how I say how most (if not all plot) is derived from an emotional/honest reaction to something? Here's a whole show as an example.
Freaky Tales - We don't get weird enough anymore. We need more movies like this one.
Weapons - I was reaallllly hesitant to watch this because it's really hard for me to watch kids in any kind of peril or distress. Alas, I was relieved and still terrified by the movie. Like I said before, it's a twisted version of Ferris Bueller's Day Off
cool improv stuff
I'll be in Edgewood Avenue TONIGHT and Road Trip on December 27th. Both shows are at Redlight Cafe.

working with YOU
Your Favorite Improv Class/Jam/Gym was so much fun this year and it was because of YOU. So thank you infinity and then some. Y'all make me feel like the luckiest.
And yes, the gym will be back in 2026!! Email coming next week!
